Nurturing those "Petit Appetit"s

It is all very exciting.  So, one of my favorite Baby/Toddler cookbook authors, Lisa Barnes (author of Petit Appetit) blogged about me and Nick!

Okay, maybe it was more like, responded to my Love Letter.  Either way, I was chosen among many other mommies, so I'm feeling a little proud.

Backstory:  As you all know, lately I have been on a quest to get Little Man to eat.  And if the food was healthy, it was a bonus.  I checked out bunches of books from the library and my favorite by far was Lisa Barnes' Petit Appetit.  It contains great organic recipes for babies and toddlers, I would HIGHLY recommend checking it out.

I have cooked and baked my way through this cookbook, and have had wonderful success.

Check out the pictures below and Lisa's blog on me and Nick here!!!

I dog-eared many pages, renewed it several times,
and finally bought it because I have been using it so much.

Apple-Banana Bran Muffins

"Lisa's Cookies" are wildly popular in my house,
and guess what...no sugar. at. all. in the recipe.

Instead of unhealthy cookies during the holidays,
I gave my friends and their wee ones,
gift baskets of healthy treats.

Clockwise, all from Petit Appetit:
Apple-Banana Bran Muffins, Citrus Corn Muffins,
Lisa's Cookies, & Homemade Graham Crackers

One of Nick's buddies, Drew choosing something during our holiday party.

Mmm...

We've moved on to a citrus corn muffin here

Yummy, more please...

  2. Adrian- you should. Milo will love it. I am not being hyperbolic when I say I cooked three of the recipes today. Healthy and yummy. My favorite so far is the pumpkin polenta. It reminded me of cream of wheat, warm and comforting on these cold days.
    Love ya,
    Aimee

  3. Love. It. Also I'm pretty excited that you use the word whimsical on one of your pages and you just said hyperbolic. No wonder we're friends!

  5. Dawn- Thanks. I should have known you would be impressed with my robust vocabulary. Comes from being married to an English teacher I suppose. And you all think alike ;-) Actually, I'd like to (incorrectly) flatter myself by saying my Master's in Linguistics had something to do with it, but probably not.

  6. Cara- Hermanita Mia- I wish you were here in my kitchen with us! We are going to California in April and will be around your way after stopping in Pasadena first. We must see each other, it would be criminal not to.
